From the North East Entrance: Traveling across the Beartooth Highway or toward Cooke City from Cody continue through Cooke City, Silver Gate and Lamar Valley. At the Tower/Roosevelt intersection proceed straight ahead into the parking lot for Roosevelt Lodge.

Stagecoaches were once the primary mode of travel for park visitors. Back then, it would take many days to travel the dusty park roads by stagecoach. Today, park visitors can relive the stagecoach experience on board our replica Tally-ho stagecoaches. You'll travel an old stagecoach road through the sage covered meadow of Pleasant Valley where there's always a chance to spot a few of the area's bison, elk or pronghorn.

Season: Summer,  Intensity: 2,  Duration: 1-3 hours,  Location: Northeast Entrance, Tower and Roosevelt Areas

Description

Back when Yellowstone first became a national park, stagecoaches were used to ferry people into the park from the area's train stations. Today, stagecoach tours are still a big part of discovering Yellowstone. Our stagecoaches are replicas of the coaches of the old west. They are a favorite for young and old alike. Enjoy a two-mile round-trip adventure, or make reservations for our Old West Dinner Cookout.
