Xanterra's interpretive department will take the time to call the customer directly to discuss the focus, expectations and subsequently, the specific itinerary of the tour. The guide and visitors can focus on topics such as history, wildlife, geology, thermal features, wildflowers, birds, photographic scenery or hiking. Once the visitors are in the park, the guides will pick up and return them to their lodging location.
The cost of the service includes a knowledgeable Interpretive Guide operating either a four-passenger auto, 12-passenger van, ADA-accessible van, Historic Yellow Bus, a 36-passenger motorcoach, multi-passenger snowcoach or snowmobile. Custom tours are also available by boat on Yellowstone Lake.
Xanterra's guides undergo extensive training and are expected to be well-versed in a wide range of park-related topics. They lead tours throughout the park on a regular basis.
