Introducing…Yellowstone ForeverPosted by: Sarah Bierschwale on December 5, 2016 Categories: Learn
Our longtime nonprofit partners, the Yellowstone Association and Yellowstone Park Foundation recently announced the completion of a merger and official unveiling of the new organization as Yellowstone Forever (Yellowstone.org).
The new unified education and fundraising partner for Yellowstone will harness the outstanding history of educational programs, products and services of the Yellowstone Association along with the legacy of critical philanthropic support from the Yellowstone Park Foundation. In supporting numerous efforts to address the increasing demands of a changing ecosystem at the park, Yellowstone Forever promises to be a powerful force in conserving one of America’s most cherished national treasures.
Throughout the years we’ve partnered with our nonprofit friends in a number of ways:
- Lodging & Learning Programs – Starting in 1999, we partnered with the Yellowstone Association Institute to offer multi-day educational vacations called Lodging & Learning Packages. With these packages, visitors experience the lodging and meals from Yellowstone National Park Lodges, while learning from expert Yellowstone Association. instructors. The award-winning program-still has spots available for this winter.
- Dollar Night Program – Since 2000, guests have been given the opportunity to donate a dollar or more per night to the Yellowstone Park Foundation when checking out of their rooms. Through the years, the program has generated over a million dollars to the Yellowstone Park Foundation. The program will continue benefiting Yellowstone Forever. Learn more about the program.
- In Room Plush Toy Sales –In each of our rooms, guests have the opportunity to purchase a plush toy animal where a portion of the sales prices goes to support the Yellowstone Park Foundation. Proceeds from this program will continue to benefit Yellowstone Forever.
“Yellowstone Forever is dedicated to conserving this crown jewel of our national park system,” said Heather White, President and CEO of Yellowstone Forever, who will oversee the newly created entity. “We will connect even more people to Yellowstone National Park through outstanding visitor experiences and educational programs. Our work will spark a new era of stewardship and philanthropy to support the growing needs of the world’s first national park and to ensure that Yellowstone lasts for years to come.”
“Yellowstone Forever will take the best of philanthropy and the best of education to provide an unforgettable experience for all of those who care about the park,” said Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk. “We are excited to work together to support the highest priorities for Yellowstone, and to conserve its nature and wildlife forever.”
