Winter things to do at Old Faithful Snow Lodge & Cabins

Getting into Yellowstone National Park in the winter is an adventure in itself. The road from the north entrance, through Mammoth Hot Springs and on to the northeast entrance and Cooke City, MT is open to automobiles in the winter.

Accessing the rest of the park's interior requires over-snow vehicles. Xanterra provides snowcoach transportation and snowmobile rentals at Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful. Xanterra also provides snowcoach service from the west entrance at West Yellowstone and the south entrance at Flagg Ranch.

For additional information on other services and transportation available in gateway communities serving Yellowstone's entrances, please contact the National Park Service.

Xanterra offers regularly scheduled snowcoach transportation from Mammoth Hot Springs (north entrance), West Yellowstone (west entrance) and Flagg Ranch (south entrance.) The schedules and fares are as follows. All snowcoach trips involve interpretation from our seasoned driver-guides and allow for ample wildlife viewing en route.  Express snowcoach runs between Old Faithful and West Yellowstone are not designed as tours, however there will be one bathroom stop.

Advance reservations for snowcoach service can be made by calling our central reservations department toll-free at 866-GEYSERLAND (866-439-7375).
