Yellowstone. Don't just see it: Experience it!

Plan Your Trip

Yellowstone is a seasonal wonder, offering an abundance of activities for all ages and interests!

At any time of year, whether you come for a day or the week, you'll find more than enough to fill your hours. Step back in time to the days of the wild West with horseback rides, western cookouts, and authentic stagecoach rides. Take a guided fishing trip on Yellowstone Lake, one of the world’s finest natural fisheries, or a relaxing Scenicruiser ride on the lake to view wildlife along the shores and the stunning Absaroka mountain range.

Turn your children into Junior Rangers, take picture after picture, reflect, rejuvenate. Enjoy an unforgettable interpretive bus tour or uncover Yellowstone’s natural treasures on your own. One of the best activities you can always do is just sit back and let the sights come to you. You will be amazed at how much wildlife you can see by simply watching. In this beautiful place, the simplest things seem to take your breath away.

In the winter months, Yellowstone is a completely different world. An endless blanket of snow brings a surreal beauty and rate silence to the park. Waterfalls become walls of suspended ice. Geysers seem to erupt higher, turning nearby trees into sparkling ghosts. Countless tiny thermals, unnoticed in the summer, announce their presence with steamy sighs. Winter wildlife is abundant and easy to spot. When you look down into the vast Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone filled with gently falling snow, you will know why many believe there is not a better season to experience Yellowstone.

Now that you know there is so much to do in Yellowstone, click the links below for detailed information about our activities, then start making your list of everything you want to do before your next trip.

Visitor Centers

The National Park Service offers visitor centers and ranger stations throughout Yellowstone National Park. You will find a wide range of natural and cultural exhibits at the visitor centers. Some of the ranger stations are set up specifically for issuing backcountry permits only and offer no other facilities. Visit the links below to view additional information about the facilities associated with the visitor center or ranger station in that part of the park.
