The hanging tag off of this plush black bear says…black bears are the most numerous member of the bear family in North America and can be found from coast ro coast. Black Bears are not always black; their coats can also be cinnamon, blonde and brown. Brown colored bears are often mistaken for grizzlies, which are a much larger species. Adult black bear males weigh between 200 and 600 pounds, females between 150 and 400 pounds. Black bears feed on a variety of grasses, roots, plants and berries in addition to small rodents an animal carcasses. There are an estimated 500-600 black bears in habiting Yellowstone National Park and can be seen most anywhere inside the park at any time.
