YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, August 19, 2015 – Yellowstone National Park Lodges is offering a variety of packages this fall that will allow visitors to gain a deeper and more meaningful appreciation of one of the world’s most fascinating destinations.

“As most of the kids head back to school, empty nesters with a passion for learning head to Yellowstone,” said Rick Hoeninghausen, director of sales and marketing for Yellowstone National Park Lodges. “And we have two great packages for those interested in experiencing the park’s incredible wildlife and putting a few more miles on their hiking boots.”

Autumn doesn’t only bring colorful changes to the landscape, it is also a time when wildlife activity heats up. This is an especially good time to observe elk and wolf interactions. Field activities include sunrise and sunset trips to Yellowstone’s Northern Range to watch elk during their annual rutting season and to look for wolves in their natural habitat. The “Fall Wolf & Elk Discovery” is a four-night program offered Aug. 25 and 31 and Sept. 1, 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29, 2015. This program includes lodging at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, breakfast and box lunch daily, dinner on the last night, in-park van transportation, short hikes, two classroom presentations, optional evening programs and expert instruction by an Institute naturalist. The Fall Wolf & Elk Discovery is offered for a maximum of 12 people and for participants who are at least12 years old. This program is priced at $789 per person for double occupancy and $1,079 for single occupancy.

Trails Through Yellowstone gets participants out of their vehicles, away from developed areas and into areas featuring the best Yellowstone has to offer. Conducted in partnership with the Yellowstone Association Institute, this program includes daily four- to eight-mile moderate-level hikes, expert instruction by an Institute naturalist/guide, two nights of lodging at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and two nights at Grant Village, breakfast and box lunch daily, in-park van transportation and optional evening programs. Carefully chosen hikes are designed to showcase the park’s natural beauty and wildlife, including hikes around the Old Faithful geyser basin and the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone. The program includes an evening expedition to search for wildlife. This program is priced at $939 per person for double occupancy and $1,239 single occupancy, and still has space available on departure dates of Aug. 30, and Sept. 6, 13 and 20.
Rates not include taxes or utility fees. Single, triple and quadruple occupancy rates are also available.
