Yellowstone Transportation Information & Travel Resources

For travel to Yellowstone, Bozeman, Montana, Jackson, Wyoming and Cody, Wyoming are the nearest airports to Yellowstone. Guests should call the specific airline or a travel agent to verify schedules of airlines flying into these airports.

There are five entrances to Yellowstone National Park. Following is transportation information and resources accessible for each entrance to the Park.

Linx Transportation Service

Linx – a tri-state network of public and private transportation operators - is piloting a newly coordinated bus service, Ride Linx in Yellowstone, to and from the park’s major lodges, campgrounds and visitor attractions. Park your car and still enjoy access to Yellowstone’s major attractions.

Arriving at the East Entrance to Yellowstone National Park

Located 50 miles west from Cody, Wyoming, the east entrance is accessed via the scenic Wapiti Valley of East Yellowstone.

Airport: Cody's airport, Yellowstone Regional Airport, is serviced by commercial carriers.

Rental Car: Rental cars are available at the Yellowstone Regional Airport.

Arriving at the North Entrance to Yellowstone National Park

The north entrance is located in Gardiner, Montana, 50 miles south of Livingston, Montana at Interstate 90. Closest airport is Bozeman, Montana, 85 miles.

Airport: The Bozeman Montana airport, Gallatin Field, is approximately 8 miles north of Bozeman (approximately 80 miles from the North Gate).

Arriving at the South Entrance to Yellowstone National Park

The south entrance to Yellowstone is located approximately 56 miles north of Jackson, Wyoming.

Airport: The Jackson, Wyoming airport is 7 miles north of Jackson (approximately 50 miles from the South Gate), located on a spur road off the main highway.

Taxi Service: From Jackson, taxi service is available.

Arriving at the West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park

Located on the west side of Yellowstone National Park, at West Yellowstone, Montana.

Arriving at the Northeast Entrance to Yellowstone National Park

Located just west of Silver Gate, Montana, the northeast entrance is accessible from Billings, Montana and Cody, Wyoming and the scenic Beartooth Highway. This entrance is only accessible during the summer months. Exact opening and closing dates depend on snow conditions.
