Take the snowmobile road north from the Canyon Warming Hut towards Washburn Hot Springs Overlook for 2.5 miles. Avalanche danger can be high, increasing towards Dunraven pass.

This is an exciting alpine ski trip for winter adverturers. This trip is highly difficult and very strenuous, reserved for athletically fit individuals. With steep mountain slopes along this trail, there is a high risk for avalanches. Clearly, this trip is for advanced to expert skiers looking for a challenge.

Description
This trail is ideal for experienced skiers looking for a challenge. Advanced Nordic skiers will find an unlimited amount of moderate to steep slopes for downhill skiing. Avalanche danger can be high and all safety precautions should be taken. Skiers should pack for backcountry conditions, including avalanche transmitters, climbing skins, extra clothing, food and water. It is best to ski this trail with a three or more people due to the potentially hazardous conditions.

Ski rentals, lessons, packages, and repairs are available at Bear Den Ski Shops at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge. Check with the ski shop for daily shuttle schedules to and from the ski trails.
