Winter Tours & Activities
Wintertime offers a completely different experience at Yellowstone, and the two lodges open during the winter season - Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge - serve as a perfect home base for activities such as cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, snowcoaching and snowmobiling. Tours from Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel
We are pleased to offer a variety of ski and interpretive tours from Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. Cross-country ski, snowshoe and guided snowmobile rentals will also be available. Learn about winter tours and activities at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel.
Tours from Old Faithful Snow Lodge & Cabins
Several snowcoach ski and interpretive tours are available from Old Faithful Snow Lodge & Cabins during our winter 2008/09 season. Ski, snowshoe and guided snowmobile rentals will also be available. Learn about winter tours and activities at Old Faithful Snow Lodge & Cabins.
Snowmobiles
Snowmobile rentals are available for guided touring only. To reserve a snowmobile call our reservations office at 866-439-7375. Guided snowmobile rentals and tours will be available at Mammoth Hot Springs and Old Faithful Snow Lodge during the 2008/09 winter season.
Ice Skating
An ice skating rink is open depending on weather, and is located at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and the Old Faithful Snow Lodge. No reservations taken. Skates are available through the Front Desk.
Hot Tubs
Four private hot tubs are available at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. Each holds up to 6 people. The attached cabin provides a private dressing room. Call toll-free 866-GEYSERLAND (866-439-7375) for reservations. Reservations also available upon arrival through the Front Desk.

Yellowstone in winter is a snowy playground for Nordic Skiers and park adventurers. There’s no better way to rejuvenate after a day of winter play and exploration than to indulge in a massage. Specializing in Swedish, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage and with a nurturing touch, our therapists can also combine several techniques. Additional types of massage may be available. Ski Instruction
Learn to cross country ski with proper instruction in the correct techniques and positioning to develop a solid background for various types of skiing. The focus is on fun and the appreciation of nature around us
If you have skied before, it never hurts to polish your turning and stopping skills, practice backcountry techniques and learn the telemark turn. Group and private lessons are offered daily.
