YELLOWSTONE WARMS UP WINTER WITH SPECIAL EVENTS FOR HOLIDAY CELEBRANTS, CHOCOHOLICS, BEER AND WINE AFICIONADOS, INTERNATIONAL FOOD AND SUNDAY BRUNCH FANS

December 12th, 2012

The kitchen staff at the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel Dining Room is going into food-prep overdrive this winter with a series of festive and just plain fun special food events.

Operated by concessioner Xanterra Parks & Resorts, the dining room is offering a Christmas Dinner Buffet, New Year’s Eve Dinner, Specialty Chocolate Buffet Jan. 18, Brew Master’s Dinner Jan. 25, Wine Tasting with Tapas Feb. 8, Valentine’s Day Dinner Feb. 14, International Market Feb. 22 and Sunday Breakfast Buffet every Sunday from Dec. 23 through March 3.

The hotel is located just inside the northern entrance to the park at Gardiner, Mont., and is easily accessible for travelers from Montana cities including Bozeman, Billings and Livingston. The events are also perfect add-ons for guests staying at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, one of two winter-season lodges in the park.

“We serve far fewer guests in the winter season, with only two hotels in operation and much less day traffic,” said Rick Hoeninghausen, director of sales and marketing for Xanterra in Yellowstone National Park. “This contributes to a more intimate experience overall, and an environment where we can offer special culinary events in the Mammoth Hotel Dining Room. These events provide opportunities for our chefs to be even more creative than usual, and the events are always well-received by our guests.”

The prices quoted do not include tax, utility fees or gratuity. Children ages two and under dine free.

The all-you-can-eat Christmas Dinner Buffet is offered from 4:30 to 9 p.m. and is priced at $27.50 for adults and $6.95 for children three through 11. Menu offerings include many traditional dishes like roast turkey and plum pudding with hard sauce.
New Year’s Eve Dinner is scheduled from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and includes three special offerings – mixed grill, lamb chops, surf and turf – in addition to regular a la carte menu items.

The Specialty Chocolate Buffet will be staged from 5:30 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 18, 2013. The buffet will include a variety of chocolate treats and decadent desserts. Diners purchasing a regular dinner entrée can add the buffet for $7.95 for adults or $4.95 for children. The buffet is $9.95 for adult dinners without the purchase of an entrée.

The Brew Master’s Dinner on Friday, Jan. 25 includes a four-course meal served with local beers from Big Sky Brewing Company carefully chosen to complement the cuisine. The dinner is scheduled from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and priced at $46.95.

Friday, Feb. 8 is a Wine Tasting with Tapas. A selection of wines will be offered to complement cold tapas such as Manchego Cheese with Quince Paste, hot tapas like Castilian Marinated Lamb Chops, and dessert tapas such as Arroz Con Leche. This event is scheduled for 6:30 to 9 p.m. and priced at $46.95.

The Valentine’s Dinner on Thursday, Feb. 14 will include a variety of dinner specials in addition to the regular menu offerings.
