2022 marks the 150th Anniversary of the establishment of Yellowstone as the first national park. Yellowstone inspired and supported indigenous cultures long before it became a park. Both prior to its becoming a national park, and in the time since, Yellowstone continues to inspire art, music, literature, science, and a conservation movement that led to other national parks in America and around the world. We are proud to provide visitor services in this special place during such a notable milestone year.
As part of the anniversary commemoration, Xanterra will be hosting a public event on May 6, coinciding with the summer season opening of the Old Faithful Inn. The tentative schedule* is as follows:
