Winter Activities at Snow Lodge

Located in the park’s interior, and accessible only by over-snow transportation (snowcoaches), the Snow Lodge provides a warm and cozy base for amazing winter adventures. Just out the door is a great trail and boardwalk system through the Upper Geyser Basin, home to Old Faithful Geyser and many others. Also just out the door are cross-country ski trails, snowshoe opportunities, and a world class NPS Visitor Education Center.

Winter Weather

Severe winter weather can occasionally cause the National Park Service to temporarily close park entrances and/or roads. This may result in delays or cancellations of in-park transportation. While every effort will be made to meet our transportation schedules, there may be times when closures prevent us from doing so. Guests are responsible for any costs (including but not limited to additional lodging, transportation, meals and airline fees) related to such delays. NPS road information is available online or 307-344-2117.
