Part-Time Helping Hands: Fall

Imagine how great it would be to experience (live and work) in Yellowstone National Park during the fall. You can make it a reality as we are offering part-time jobs that let you split your time in Yellowstone between working and exploring by offering a “Helping Hand.” Our Helping Hands program provides you the opportunity to work part-time and assist us in closing out our summer season strong. If you’re looking for variety, this is perfect, as each day may bring a different job.

Helping Hands is even better when you bring a buddy. If you have a spouse, partner, or friend to join you, you can work the 20 hours (or more if you’d like) and then enjoy Yellowstone together for the rest of the week.

The Details:

  • Dates
    • TBD (check back in July 2019)
  • Schedule
    • Part-time (minimum of 20 hours/week). Depending on our business needs, you could work between 4-8 hours a day. If you want to work more, you are certainly welcome to.
  • Job
    • You could be assigned to the Lodging or Food & Beverage Department.
    • Your job will be whatever is needed for the day: housekeeper, dishwasher, busser, host or whatever is needed. Training will occur for each position. Each day it may be something different, so flexibility is key.
      • Room attendant (clean and prepare guest rooms)
      • Kitchen crew (prep, set-up, service, clean up, and restocking of food service areas)
      • Host (provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner)
  • Location
  •  Wage
    • $10.10/hr
  • Tips on Shoes to Bring
    • Shoes must be black, full coverage, closed-toe, with slip-resistant outsoles. Material must be leather or non-porous material. Canvas or cloth is not permitted for safety reasons. Shoes can be purchased online at Shoes For Crews.

Your Perks Include:

  • Living, working, and exploring in the world’s first National Park
  • Free access to the park for the time you’re actively employed
  • Low-cost housing (dormitory style) and meals (cafeteria style) provided.
  • Wi-Fi (limited bandwidth) provided
  • Free Employee Recreation Program (hiking, photography, camping, wildlife watching, and more!)
  • Discounts in and around Yellowstone

Volunteer Opportunities:

If you are looking to give back in your off time, there are plenty of opportunities to volunteer in Yellowstone. Check out our partners for more information.

Yellowstone Forever

National Park Service

“I had the great privilege to be a member of the pilot Helping Hands Crew last fall at Lake Hotel and Lodge! It was a wonderful experience. I adapted easily to dorm life and I actually enjoyed the EDR food. I made friends of all ages. I enjoyed the variety of my work duties and never missed a shift. It was very gratifying to help out the full-time folks and feel so appreciated by them and our managers. The part-time Helping Hands schedule allowed me time to pursue my passion, photography… I can’t wait to return to Yellowstone.”

Erica Brown

“The [Helping Hands] program has been great. I have interacted with all of them and [they] are truly a pleasure to work with. They have been a huge help in all of the departments and I only wish that we had received more of them, especially here at Old Faithful.”

Cody Lockner, Old Faithful Location Operations Manager
