Madison Campground is named for its proximity to the Madison River, which runs through the area in a lush mountain setting rich in wildlife. Madison Campground is at an elevation of 6,800’ and is set in a partly wooded area, with a variety of mostly sunny to mostly shaded sites. The area is known for its great fishing and convenient location with regards to Old Faithful and the Upper, Midway and Lower Geyser Basins.
Upcoming Facilities Improvements
In our efforts to continually improve and care for the facilities we’re privileged to operate, there will be several projects in progress during the 2016 summer season. With such a short window for accomplishing this type of work, it often must be done while guests are in-house. We regret any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding.
Paving scheduled for later in summer, though loops will be closed and off line during the process so that the work is happening in unoccupied areas.
