Join us for an afternoon along the shores of Yellowstone Lake in one of our 1930s-era Historic Yellow Buses. We’ll depart the beautiful Lake Yellowstone Hotel and make our way south to the West Thumb Geyser Basin, where your congenial driver-guide will take you on a walking tour to see the features there. This basin was described by fur trapper Daniel T. Potts in a letter home to his brother in 1827, and became the first published description of the future Park’s thermal features. After the walk we’ll make our way back north to the hotel with several stops along the lakeshore to take in the beaches, the surrounding mountains, and the essence of “a lake, cold and pellucid,” as another of the historic crowd so described it. Unless the weather were to insist otherwise, we’ll try to spend part of the afternoon with the convertible top open, but in any case we’ll have a fun and laid back afternoon along the shores of Yellowstone Lake.
Tours will be on a Historic Yellow Bus.
