Yellowstone during the holidays will surely bring a smile to adults and kids alike. There is dashing through the snow, magical appearances by hoofed animals, and hot beverages of cheer to go around. Outside, the landscape turns into a winter wonderland, while inside, the elves adorn both winter lodges with festive decorations.
During the winter, two lodges are open, Mammoth Hot Spring Hotel and Old Faithful Snow Lodge. Guests can drive to Mammoth Hotel via the north entrance, but traveling to Snow Lodge requires a Snowcoach, a fun adventure all unto itself.
This year, Santa will arrive on December 15th to take part in our holiday celebration at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel. Kicking off the evening are welcome remarks, the tree lighting, and a musical presentation by the Gardiner school 7-12 grade band and elementary chorus. At 5:00 pm Santa will arrive in a vintage yellow bus to collect wish lists and entertain the audience with a holiday story.
Throughout the evening, there will be light refreshments, including coffee and cookies, and special surprise gifts for children and attendees.
Rooms are still available at Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel if you’d like to join us for the most magical time of the year.
