Important Update (10/10/20)
Old Faithful Snow Lodge to Close on October 13, 2020
Due to recent incidences of Covid-19 sourced in the Old Faithful area, and out of an abundance of caution, we will close our Old Faithful Snow Lodge operations on Tuesday, October 13. This includes the rooms, food services and gift shop at Old Faithful Snow Lodge.
Xanterra Travel Collection is committed to the health and safety of our guests and employees, and our proactive safety protocols will remain in effect while the Old Faithful Snow Lodge operations are open. Any employees who have tested positive or have presented symptoms will be quarantined per CDC and local public health guidelines. As part of the contact tracing process, employees who have been known to interact with those individuals will be contacted by the local health department and quarantined as necessary.
Those guests with in-house reservations, or arriving on or before Tuesday, October 13, will be able to keep their rooms until Tuesday morning.
Those guests with reservations for stays that include Tuesday, October 13 or later can request a relocation to the Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel (if space is available*) by completing this online request form. Otherwise, those reservations will be automatically cancelled and the refunds processed. If preferred, reservations can be cancelled immediately online here. *Please note there is very little availability at Mammoth at this time.
For those who can’t be accommodated in the park, but would still like to stay in the Yellowstone area, we suggest contacting the chambers of commerce in Cody, WY, Jackson, WY, West Yellowstone, MT, Cooke City/Silver Gate MT, or Gardiner, MT for information on lodging in those gateway communities.
For those guests who have some flexibility with their travel plans, Xanterra has some rare availability at the Grand Canyon as well as the Grand Canyon Railway and Hotel, and we are currently offering 30% off for many dates this fall. We also have availability at the recently refurbished Oasis at Death Valley. You can find more information on other opportunities here.
We regret that our guests’ original plans were not able to materialize and thank you all for your understanding.
Opening: June 8, 2020
Closing: October 13, 2020 (Dates are subject to change based on future conditions and public health guidance.)
Completed in 1999, the Snow Lodge is the newest of the park’s full service hotels, and has been recognized with the Cody Award for Western Design and Travel and Leisure’s Inn of the Month. The heavy timber construction, exterior log columns and cedar shingle roof were part of the design that is destined to make the Snow Lodge a significant example of classic “parkitecture.” The Snow Lodge also features a full-service dining room, quick service “Geyser Grill” and the charming Bear Den Gift Store.
