FISHING BRIDGE RV PARK

Dates Open: September 4 – October 4, 2020

Rate: $79/night

The Fishing Bridge Recreational Vehicle Park is located near the mouth of the Yellowstone River as it leaves Yellowstone Lake. The RV park is named after the Fishing Bridge, a wooden vehicle bridge that used to provide a great platform from which park visitors would fish for native Cutthroat trout. Today, fishing is not allowed from the bridge, although visitors still congregate on the walkways to watch White Pelicans and other waterfowl gliding along the river’s surface, and to look for trout swimming under the crystal clear water.

In 2020, we will be completing an extensive renovation of the RV Park, and welcoming guests beginning September 4. The renovation will bring new and larger sites, a larger parking lot, new dump station and recycling area, and an expanded registration building with more showers and laundry facilities. Four comfort stations will also be renovated to bring them to current ADA (accessibility) standards.

The Upper Loop of the RV park will have 172 renovated and paved sites ranging from 40-feet to 95-feet in length. The 40-foot sites will be double-wide and back-in. The majority of new sites will include pull-through drives, and all of the Upper Loop will have upgraded 50 amp/30 amp and 110-volt electrical service and picnic tables. (No other sites/loops were included in this renovation. There are 30- to 35-foot double-wide, back-in sites in other loops and 30-foot single-wide back-in sites.*)

We are doubling the size of the registration building with a floor plan that will accommodate additional showers (womens’ showers will increase from 8 to 14 and mens’ showers will increase from 8 to 11), plus two family showers. There will be an increase in the number of washing machines from 11 to 26, and dryers from 14 to 24. There will still be a small retail space in the registration building as well.

*B and D sites will not be available for rent in 2020.

Specifics About the Fishing Bridge RV Park

The Fishing Bridge RV Park will provide 310 sites designated for hard-sided recreational vehicles only. This is because the RV park is located in bear habitat. Also because of its location, we ask that RV campers be especially diligent in their compliance with park food storage regulations. Recreational vehicles with a combined length (RV and tow vehicle) of up to 95 feet in length can be accommodated based on the availability of the right-size site. All sites are open, with a mix of pull-through and back-in sites. A pine forest surrounds the RV Park. Additional facilities and services include:

  • Full hookups for electricity, water, and sewer (50 amp or 30 amp)
  • RV pads vary from gravel to paved.
  • Per NPS regulations, generators may not exceed 60 decibels.
  • Coin laundry and pay showers in the nearby Camper Services facility.
  • An RV dump station is also available near the entrance. The dump station may not be available early and late season due to freezing temperatures.
  • Charcoal or propane grills are allowed, but no open flames (including portable fire pits).

When calling to make a reservation be prepared to give the combined length of your RV and any other vehicles or towed vehicles. (e.g. the length of your truck in addition to the length of your trailer when fully open.)

  • Designated Fishing Bridge RV sites will accommodate a towing unit and a towed unit side-by-side. For example, a 35-foot site would accommodate an 18-foot truck and a 35-foot trailer (unhooked) side-by-side in the site. Adjust for slide outs.
  • Some Fishing Bridge RV sites are single-wide and will not accommodate side-by-side parking of RV and tow-vehicle.
  • Rates include two showers per night. Rates do not include taxes and utility fees. Rates and dates are subject to change. Interagency Access Access and Senior Pass discounts are not available at Fishing Bridge RV Park.

Please keep in mind that most campsites in Yellowstone will not accommodate oversized units. If you arrive at the Campground/RV Park with equipment different than that for which you have reserved, we will not be able to accommodate you.
